The highly anticipated anime adaptation of Kōki Fuyutsuki’s light novel series, The Too-Perfect Saint: Tossed Aside by My Fiancé and Sold to Another Kingdom, has officially announced its premiere date for April 2025. Along with this exciting news, a new key visual has been unveiled, offering fans a glimpse into the series’ aesthetic. The anime, produced by TROYCA, is generating considerable buzz among fans of fantasy and romance genres.
Premiere and Broadcast Details
The anime is scheduled to begin broadcasting in April, with confirmed air dates on TV Tokyo, TV Aichi, and BS Asahi. For those eager to get a head start, an advanced screening of the first two episodes will be held at TOHO CINEMAS Ueno on February 8th. This early premiere provides a special opportunity for fans to experience the series ahead of its official television debut.
Storyline and Premise
The Too-Perfect Saint follows the story of Philia, a saint revered for her extraordinary abilities. Coming from a family with a long line of saints, Philia is engaged to the second prince, Julius. However, her life takes an unexpected turn when Julius abruptly calls off their engagement, claiming that Philia’s perfection makes her “charmless and unlikable.” Adding insult to injury, she is then sold off to the neighboring kingdom of Parnacorta in exchange for resources.
Philia, now in a new land, is surprised to find that her saintly duties are not as demanding as they were in her homeland. She discovers that she doesn’t need to manage all of a kingdom’s issues single-handedly unless explicitly asked. Meanwhile, back in Ziltonia, the kingdom begins to fall into disarray as citizens struggle to do their jobs without Philia’s constant intervention. This creates a looming sense of doom over her former home. Despite initial apprehension about her new circumstances, Philia receives a warm welcome and quickly puts her skills to good use, creating protective barriers and curing outbreaks.
Key Visual and Character Design
The newly released key visual showcases Philia and Mia Adenauer against a stained-glass-like backdrop, symbolizing the importance of their roles within the narrative. Shuhei Yamamoto, known for his work on Beast Tamer, is handling the character designs, promising a visually appealing series with unique character styles.
