The upcoming anime adaptation of Yomu Mishima’s light novel series, I’m the Evil Lord of an Intergalactic Empire!, has released its first full trailer, revealing additional cast members and providing a deeper look into the seriesā world. New Cast Members Announced
The trailer introduces several key characters and the voice actors who will bring them to life. Joining the previously announced cast are:
- Kaori Maeda as the young version of protagonist Liam.
- Ayana Taketatsu as Nias Carlin, a princess knight.
- Mikako Komatsu as Christiana Leta Rosebreia, a genius engineer.
These new additions complement the already established main cast:
- Natsuki Hanae as Liam Sera Banfield, the reincarnated “evil lord.”
- Reina Ueda as Amagi, an AI robot maid.
- Takehito Koyasu as Guide, a mysterious being who facilitates Liam’s reincarnation.
The Plot: A Tyrant Who Can’t Be Evil
The series follows Liam, a man who in his previous life was a moral and responsible individual, but who died in debt and betrayed by his wife. Reincarnated into the ruling family of a vast intergalactic empire, Liam resolves to live selfishly, embracing the role of a “corrupt lord”. He aims to oppress his people and establish himself as a tyrant.
However, despite Liam’s best efforts to be evil, his actions consistently result in peace and prosperity for his domain. His attempts to exploit and mistreat his subjects paradoxically lead to their happiness and increase his popularity. This comedic twist forms the core of the series’ narrative, creating a unique and engaging story.

The anime is being produced by Quad, with Tetsuya Yanagisawa (Berserk of Gluttony) directing. The series composition and script are handled by Katsuhiko Takayama (The Weakest Tamer Began a Journey to Pick Up Trash).
Kazuya Morimae (Miss KUROITSU from the Monster Development Department) is responsible for the character designs. The music is composed by Yusuke Seo and Shun Narita.

The anime is adapted from the light novel series written by Yomu Mishima and illustrated by Nadare Takamine. The light novel began as a web novel on ShÅsetsuka ni NarÅ in August 2018, before being acquired by Overlap for publication under their Overlap Bunko imprint in July 2020.
Seven Seas Entertainment publishes the official English version of both the light novels and the manga adaptation illustrated by Kai Nadashima. The English version is described as follows: “In his last life, Liam lived as a moral, responsible personā¦but died deep in debt and betrayed by his wife. Reborn into the ruling family of a vast interstellar empire, Liam knows that life is divided into the downtrodden and the ones who do the stomping, so this time he’s going to take what he wants and live for himself.
